ANTRUK is approved to become a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities

ANTRUK has been working over the past 18 months to put into place all the necessary procedures to apply for membership of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). Many of the procedures that were needed for the Charity’s application were put together by June Garner, a volunteer working with the charity who has a lifetimes experience in Quality Assurance and we are extremely grateful for her assistance. Dr David Brown, the Science Committee’s chair was also heavily involved with our submission. The AMRC informed ANTRUK in the last week that at its most recent Board Meeting, ANTRUK was approved to become a Member. We are delighted with this news which has provided an independent review of our research procedures. ANTRUK has signed up to all AMRC’s requirements including their policy on the use of animals in research.
We join 133 member charities including the Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and many others. We hope to work together with some of the AMRC member charities who have an interest in tackling AMR since antibiotic resistance cuts across so many different diseases and medical conditions.
