We already have a busy schedule of events lined up in 2017 and we would like you to support our volunteers who are running, cycling and doing other events for us.

Our first major sporting event is the Maserati Tour de Yorkshire. The Maserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride offers a unique mix of Tour de France delivery combined with Yorkshire hoMaserati Tour de Yorkshire Ride cyclists 2017spitality and beauty resulting in a sportive dream day.  Taking place on the 3rd and final day of the Tour de Yorkshire (Sunday 30 April), this is your chance to ride many of the same roads as the pros before they do, including the pro finish line, complete with support from the waiting crowds. The location has now been announced and we’re heading to Fox Valley (Sheffield)!  If you are interested in taking up one of our 50 places please contact sarah@birdgatedental.co.uk  Each cyclist will be raising money for Antibiotic Research UK – look out for them approaching you.

The next major national event for fundraising is the Virgin Money London MIMG_0425arathon on 23 April 2017 where we have two runners Ben Blackwell and his brother Marc.  To support Ben and Marc, please go to their page on the Virgin Money Giving website and help us raise funds to support our mission of antibiotic drug development, educating the public and professionals and providing patient support.  We cannot make progress without your help.  Please support our runners by going to their fundraising pages on Virgin Money Giving.

Jonny Burr riding his Brompton bike – 2016 Prudential 100 ride

Later in the summer on Sunday 30 July 2017, we have two riders cycling in the Prudential 100 London – Surrey Ride. One of these is Jonny Burr who cycled for us last year on his Moulton bike and raised £2,000.  In 2017 Jonny hopes to smash last year’s amount raised. Support Jonny by going to his JustGiving page.  His friend Freddie Powles is also riding for us and his JustGiving page will shortly be available.

On 1 August 2017, one of our volunteers Benoit Guerin is organising an Antibiotic Research UK Day at Beverley Racecourse.  Further information about this event can be found HERE.

Wednesday 11 October sees our Annual Lecture to be given by Dame Sally Davies, England’s Chief Medical Officer; the charity’s AGM will also be held on this day. The event will take place in London and the location will be announced in the coming months.

Saturday 18 November 2017 is the date for our annual Great British Tea Party.  As the date falls on a Saturday, we are proposing that Tea Parties can be held on any date around that time.

If you are interested in fundraising for us drop us an email message via our website or email info@antibioticresearch.org.uk
