We are launching a major fund raising drive to fund our first research project. We need to raise £250,000 and we need your help to reach this target. In the last two weeks alone we have raised £18,000 but we need more, much more to fight antibiotic resistance. On 18 November each year European Antibiotic Awareness Day is held (see http://ecdc.europa.eu/en/EAAD/Pages/Home.aspx). To co-incide with this our Charity is launching a major fund raising drive The Great British Tea Party which will be held on Wednesday 18 November 2015..

The Great British Tea Party is part of our growing campaign to secure donations for our research; we believe this event will capture your imagination, and that of your family, friends and colleagues.

THE GREAT BRITISH TEA PARTY will raise the profile of our charity and generate funds that will allow us to begin our research programme. This major piece of research  will focus on overcoming resistance to the penicillin class of antibiotics. All contributions from The Great British Tea Party will support this programme.

All of us closely engaged with this work would like to encourage as many people as possible to organise an event – either in your home, at your work place or any other suitable venue. The Great British Tea Party is going to be a great fund-raising day for us and we would like you to help grow, over time, this event into something substantial.

As you will know antibiotic resistance is becoming a global threat to us all and could lead to the end of modern medicine (which is wholly reliant on effective antibiotics) as we know it.

Our mission is to ‘Save Modern Medicine’ and we will do this by developing new antibiotic therapies. To achieve our objectives we need to raise money to fund our research and that is one of the main purposes of The Great British Tea Party. It is a social occasion where friends, family and work colleagues can meet to hear about the antibiotic resistance threat. The impact of antibiotic resistance on one patient is illustrated in Emily’s moving story which features on our website  – https://www.antibioticresearch.org.uk/read-emilys-story-about-what-it-is-like-to-have-a-chronic-antibiotic-resistant-infection/.

We would like you to organise or participate in The Great British Tea Party. To obtain a Fundraising Pack by post please fill in your name and address details on the email request form. The Pack will tell you how to organise an event as well as giving you more information about our Charity and ways in which it can be supported.
