Never hiked in God’s own country or perhaps you live there already. If so you might be interested in a fantastic new fundraising event that one of our volunteers is running. The Yorkshire Wolds Way is generally accepted to form England’s last undiscovered landscape being the crescent of chalk hills which ripple north from the Humber to terminate dramatically at the white cliffs of Flamborough and Bempton.
Made famous in some of the paintings by the artist David Hockney, the Wolds Way lies in some of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of the Yorkshire countryside.
The fundraising walks will take place on Saturday 18 May 2019.
Do you like a challenge? Then why not join ANTRUK supporter and ex National Park Ranger Dave Simpson as he takes you on a 23 mile hike starting from Wharram Percy and leading you through some of the most beautiful sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Dave has completed the full 79 mile Wolds Way walk and has a wealth of knowledge to share with you, on what will undoubtedly be a day to remember.
Not feeling quite so energetic? Then why not join us for an easy 7.5 mile circular walk starting from Market Weighton. With plenty of time to enjoy this unspoilt area of the Wolds Way and time to relax over lunch at Goodmanham, a pretty village with a church said to be built on the site of a pagan temple or shrine.
