Student fundraising ideas

  • World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 18-24 November

    you could organise a range of fundraising and awareness activities taking place across the week. Ideas include – A Great British Tea Party, sponsored events, a guest lecture focusing on AMR, awareness stalls or any of the other fundraising ideas below

  • Bucket collections

    Get permission at your local supermarket or station to collect donations. We can send you everything you need for this

  • Valentine’s Day

    Organise an event to focus on the need for safe sex (super gonorrhea), you could sell heart shaped biscuits or broken heart biscuits

  • Gaming for good

    Using twitch to hold gaming marathons, gaming tournaments etc. You can connect twitch to Just Giving to collect donations

  • Bingo

    Regular or use scientific terms, charge to take part and get a small prize for the winner

  • Film/documentary screening

    Grab some friends over at your flat and watch a film or documentary together, serve popcorn and drinks and collect donations. You could try watching Catch, Resistance Fighters, Resistance or Contagion, 28 days later, Outbreak or I am Legend

  • Smartphone film festival

    Get people to create their own films about antibiotic resistance and charge entry to watch them Join Antibiotic Research UK as a member

  • Wellbeing event

    How to take care of your health so you don’t need antibiotics, hand hygiene, basic self care for mild illnesses, when to seek further help, keeping well through diet and exercise. Ask for donations to attend the event Find out more on our volunteering pages

  • Society mash-ups

    Get together with other societies and organise events with them. Antibiotic resistance will affect so many people in their working lives, you might want to think about: veterinary, GPs, surgery, midwifery, pharmacy, biological sciences, microbiology, obstetrics, and dentistry to name just a few

  • Fancy dress party

    Dress as your favourite scientist or super bug and ask for donations for entry

  • Games night

    All your favourite board games

  • Karaoke

    Can you make this science themed? How about Life on Mars, Rocket Man, The scientist, Supermassiveblackhole, or Atomic?

  • Quiz

    Organise your own quiz event and charge for entry

  • Raffle

    Get prizes donated and sell raffle tickets

  • Sweepstake

    Whether it’s the World Cup, Wimbledon or Strictly Come Dancing set up a sweepstake with a % of the money going to Antibiotic Research UK
