Meet Our New Fundraisers Claire and Jayne – Helping to Fight Antibiotic Resistance in London and the South East

Alison Staples ANTRUK announcements, Get involved

ANTRUK is a national charity tackling antibiotic resistance and we want to have all parts of the UK involved. After all we are Antibiotic Research UK. Up until now our fundraisers have been located in the North of England but no longer. We are delighted to welcome our two new regional fundraisers in the South East. Identified after an exhaustive interview process Jayne Cromwell and Claire Nethersole started working with us in the middle of March 2019. They are tasked with raising ANTRUK’s profile in  London and South East.

Claire has been working as a fundraiser in the charity sector for 14 years starting initially at Marie Curie Cancer Care before discovering her love of small charities. She has worked with organisations such as The Eve Appeal, Age UK Lambeth and Carers Support Merton helping them to develop and grow their fundraising activities.

Claire writes ‘I am really excited to join ANTRUK as I feel it is such an important cause for the entire world but it receives so little funding.  I hope to build much greater awareness of ANTRUK in London and the South East and of course raise the all important funds to pay for the charity’s research, education and patient support programmes’.

Jayne has 17 years experience working in fundraising.  In recent years I have been lucky enough to work for Breast Cancer Now as their Assistant Director of Events and Community and prior to this role I headed up the Community Fundraising team at Anthony Nolan.

Jayne writes ‘I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join Antibiotic Research UK at an exciting time of growth.  Antibiotic resistance is such an important issue that will impact all of our lives.  The charity needs to raise more funds to carry out their critical research and provide a step change in developing new antibiotic treatments.  I am very much look forward to being part of the team and developing fundraising opportunities in my home city of London and across the South East’.

If you live in London and the South East and would like to help our charity help ensure that we, our children and grandchildren continue to enjoy the benefits of antibiotics then contact Jayne and Claire at info@antibioticresearch.org.uk
