We were delighted when York Rotary, who run the nationally famous York Dragon Boat Race Challenge on the River Ouse, nominated Antibiotic Research UK to be one of their two charities in 2022. Now the hard, but fun, work starts!
Our charity is looking both for dragon boat sponsors and rowers. We would like to have our own boat in the race but to do so we need to have 16 fit rowers plus a drummer! We also need to raise £500 to sponsor the boat.
If you live in the York area or want to spend a fun weekend in the historic city we want to hear from you. Could you be a sponsor or a rower (or both)? For businesses, this is a great team building opportunity as being part of a dragon boat race is motivating and helps integrate your staff. Everyone has to work together in a dragon boat race on the day. We need 16 rowers and a drummer to raise £1,500 in total before race day – that’s just over £90 per person. If we raise more we would be delighted!
